iQOO 12 and 12 Pro confirmed with Snadragon 8 Gen 2 and 120W charging

Vivo’s sub-brand iQOO is gearing up to give a further step into the gaming step. The brand that has its roots on online gaming will deploy a pair of new gaming flagships under its numbered series on November 7. The two new smartphones namely iQOO 12 and iQOO 12 Pro will come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Today, the Pro variant appeared on the Geekbench benchmark, confirming the processor and some of its specifications. In addition to that, we also got more details about the charging speed coming with these devices.

iQOO 12 Pro appears on Geekbench – Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in Tow

It’s not a surprise to see the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 present in the new flagship. Qualcomm unveiled its new flagship SoC earlier this month, and now, most of the flagships are expected to come with it. We already had the debut of the Xiaomi 14 series featuring the new chipset, and many other devices will join soon. Among them, the iQOO 12 series. If the rumors are not enough for you, then the new Geekbench listing confirms the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 on the flagship.

The gaming phone scored 2,235 on single-core and 6,912 on multi-core. For starters, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 has a 1 x ARM Cortex-X4 core running at up to 3.30 GHz, 5 x ARM Cortex-A720s, three running at 3.15 GHz, two at 2,96 GHz, and finally has two Cortex-A520s running at 2.27 GHz. With this configuration, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 can handle anything available on the Play Store. Since this is a gaming smartphone, you can expect most of the games to run fine with the max graphics settings. These include the most advanced games like Call of Duty Online, Fortnite and PUBG. Besides the processor, Geekbench also listed the phone with 16 GB of RAM and Android 14 straight out of the box. We already know both devices will come with iQOO’s OriginOS 4.0 skin running atop.

Charging Tech and Other Details Revealed

As aforementioned, the iQOO 12 series also had its charging specs revealed today. Both phones will feature Vivo’s 120W FlashCharge technology. The iQOO 12 will have a 5,000 mAh battery, while the Pro will boast a 5,100 mAh unit. These batteries will allow users to easily enjoy long-gaming sessions, and if you need to charge during one intense gameplay, you won’t have much issues as the 120W will charge the phones pretty fast.

Besides the charging tech, the phones also had camera details confirmed. The iQOO 12 series will feature a 50 MP OmniVision OV50H main camera, a 50 MP Samsung ISOCELL JN1 ultrawide, and a 64 MP OmniVision OV64B 3x zoom camera. Finally, both phones will come with Vivo’s Q1 gaming chip that will handle the 144 Hz displays to keep stable frame rates on games.
