Galaxy S22 review 10

As some Galaxy S22 users get One UI 6, others get a security update

The Galaxy S22 lineup is getting the November 2023 update in the US today. The new update is rolling out to unlocked Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra units in the country, is accompanied by a firmware version ending in CWK1, and includes the November 2023 security patch.

In case you’re wondering, this update does not bring Android 14 and One UI 6 to the Galaxy S22 series in the US. The official One UI 6 update did start rolling out for the Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra a few hours back, but it has only been released for European devices that were running the Android 14/One UI 6 beta and are powered by the Exynos 2200 chipset.

Everyone else will have to wait for the Galaxy S22’s second major operating system upgrade. With the weekend almost here, it’s possible Samsung will not expand the availability of the stable One UI 6 update until sometime next week, though we will be glad to be proven wrong.

In any case, if you are using an unlocked Galaxy S22 series smartphone, you can download the November update from the phone’s Settings » Software update menu or upgrade your phone using full-sized firmware available in our library and a Windows PC.
