Samsung could soon launch a couple of affordable smartphones before the launch of the Galaxy S24. Since the company’s next-generation flagship smartphone is rumored to be announced in mid-January 2024, we can expect the Galaxy A15 and the Galaxy A25 to launch later this month or next month, and to that end, the Galaxy A15 4G is clearing a few certifications ahead of the announcement.
Samsung Galaxy A15 5G ; Size, 6.4 inches, 98.7 cm ; Resolution, 1080 x 2408 pixels, 20:9 ratio (~412 ppi density) ; OS, Android 14 ; Card slot, microSDXC (dedicated will be available in both 4G and 5G versions. The 4G version of the Galaxy A15 has appeared in NBTC’s certification database. It has model number SM-A155F/DSN, which confirms that the phone has a dual-SIM card slot and that it will launch sooner rather than later. Previous reports have revealed that the Galaxy A15 4G uses a MediaTek Helio G99 processor, which has two high-performance Cortex-A76 CPU cores clocked at 2.2GHz and six power-efficient Cortex-A55 CPU cores clocked at 2GHz. The 5G version of the phone will use the MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ processor.
The upcoming affordable smartphone has a big screen with a U-shaped notch. Its resolution is pegged at Full HD+, while it could have a 90Hz refresh rate. The phone will likely have 64GB or 128GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot for storage capacity expansion. The phone’s Geekbench entry has also revealed that the phone will run Android 14 out of the box, setting it up for a possible upgrade to at least Android 16 in the future. Leaked images reveal that the phone has flat sides and curved corners.
On the rear, the Galaxy A15 has a triple-camera setup featuring a 50MP primary camera. The other two cameras could be a 5MP ultrawide camera and a 2MP macro camera. On the front, the phone will likely have a 13MP camera. It has a 5,000mAh battery and supports 25W fast charging. The phone also features a fingerprint reader, a USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
