Apple’s next showcase event, titled ‘Scary Fast,’ is just around the corner, set for October 30, where tech enthusiasts anticipate the unveiling of fresh iMac and MacBook models. An intriguing leak has emerged before the event, showcasing an image of a MacBook Pro box packaging. The image first surfaced on Weibo, a Chinese micro-blogging site, and was later shared by the reliable tipster ShrimpApplePro (@VNchocoTaco). The packaging features a familiar white box adorned with the MacBook Pro image, yet with a twist: it shows a silver-hued, unreleased MacBook Pro featuring an intriguing new wallpaper on its display.
Naturally, Apple has maintained its tradition of secrecy regarding any official details about its rumored lineup of Macs. Hence, it’s wise to approach this leak with a measure of skepticism. However, the rumor mill has been buzzing with speculations about the ‘Scary Fast’ event, with expectations of a new 24-inch iMac introduction. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman even hinted at the impending launch of the much-anticipated 24-inch iMac refresh by the end of October. The last iMac made its debut at Apple’s ‘Spring Loaded’ event back in 2021.
But the excitement doesn’t stop there; Apple might also introduce its highly-anticipated M3 chip, potentially powering an array of Mac models set to be unveiled at the event. According to Bloomberg’s insights, we could witness the launch of 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models, possibly equipped with M3 Pro and M3 Max chips.
Intriguingly, earlier this week, Mark Gurman noted that existing iMacs and 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models were in short supply at Apple’s retail stores, further hinting at the imminent arrival of new releases. There were also hints that a larger Pro version of the iMac might grace us in late 2024 or 2025. Additionally, Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst at TF Securities, speculated that a high-end iMac boasting a 32-inch mini-LED display might make its debut in 2025.
While Apple’s iPad lineup is also in for a refresh, the ‘Scary Fast’ event is expected to be Mac-centric, with the iPad updates likely to come around March 2024. For those eager to witness the event unfold, you can catch the live stream on Apple’s YouTube channel, official website, and Apple TV+.
