New Galaxy A25 leak fills in some of the blanks

More details about Samsung’s 2024 Galaxy A smartphones are making their way online this week. To be more precise, details already known about one device are making a reappearance in a new leak.

The folks over at MySmartPrice have published the full spec sheet for the Galaxy A25 along with renders showing off the device in some of the rumored colors, filling in a few blanks that were leftover from previous leaks.

The Galaxy A25 will reportedly feature a 6.5-inch 90Hz Full HD+ AMOLED display instead of a 90Hz display, and the A24’s MediaTek chip will be replaced by the Exynos 1280, which will be paired with 6GB/8GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB storage. 5G connectivity will be offered as standard.

The camera setup at the back is said to include 50MP primary, 8MP ultra-wide, and 2MP macro sensors while the front will house a 13MP camera for selfies and video calls. Samsung has also equipped the Galaxy A25 with stereo speakers, which would be a first for a device in the Galaxy A2x lineup.

Like most mid-range Galaxy phones nowadays, the Galaxy A25 will have a 5,000 mAh battery under the hood with support for 25W fast charging. It will run Android 14 and One UI 6 out of the box and will be eligible for four major OS upgrades and five years of security updates like the Galaxy A24.

The Galaxy A25’s design will also be similar to the Galaxy A24, but the back will have a textured pattern that may or may not be to everyone’s liking. There’s some confusion about the color options – the A25 will reportedly come in yellow, but the renders show a lime green color like the one the Galaxy A24 comes in.

It’s unclear when the Galaxy A25 will make its debut. The Galaxy A24 went on sale in May this year, but with the constant leaks and even a support page for the device going up on Samsung’s website recently, it’s possible the A25 will arrive before its predecessor has had the chance to complete a full year on retail shelves.
