The Chinese launch of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+ brings a mid-range smartphone with a “wow” factor. There are also more affordable models in this series.
We’ve finally witnessed the launch of the new Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 series, and three new models are poised for success. The flagship among them, the Redmi Note 13 Pro+, is nearly a flagship device itself. How has Xiaomi improved these models that were already excellent in the previous generation?
Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+ Launch A few days ago, the long-awaited Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+ was officially unveiled. To sum up this model right away: it doesn’t have any weak points. It features a very good display, a primary camera with optical stabilization, and incredibly fast charging. It is powered by the latest MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Ultra processor built on 4nm technology. While it’s not a flagship CPU, it will deliver sufficient speed for daily tasks for the next few years.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G Launch The smartphone debuts with the latest Android 13 operating system with MIUI 14 skin. However, an update to Android 14 is expected soon, coinciding with the release of the Google Pixel 8.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+ can come with 12+256, 12+512, or even 16GB of RAM and a 512GB UFS 3.1 storage. Not long ago, we would expect such specifications only in flagship phones priced at least 3,500-4,000 Polish zlotys!
In some Chinese smartphones, we have seen good processors and ample RAM. However, manufacturers often made many compromises to sell the phone at an attractive price. In this case, there seem to be very few compromises, and the device’s specifications combine flagship features with those typically found in the mid-price range.
The 5,000mAh battery provides ample power, and it charges to full in 19 minutes, albeit only with a cable. The charging power reaches 120W, which is an impressive result. The Redmi Note 13 Pro+ supports all modern connectivity standards, including Bluetooth 5.3 A2DP LE, Wi-Fi 6, 5G cellular connectivity with Dual SIM, NFC, and even an infrared port (iRDA) for added versatility. The USB-C port, while USB 2.0 standard, is a solid choice, even if it’s not the latest. This is noteworthy since even in this year’s iPhone 15, which is considerably more expensive, the charging power is only 20W. Hence, Xiaomi’s choice is a good one.

120Hz OLED Display and IP68-Durable Build Many users, especially those considering a reasonably priced smartphone, prioritize having a good display. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+ certainly delivers in this regard. It features an OLED panel with a 1B color palette and a high resolution of 2772 x 1220 pixels, exceeding the standard Full HD+ used in many top models today. The display supports Dolby Vision and HDR10+ content, and it boasts a 6.7″ diagonal. The maximum brightness is also impressive, at 1800 nits.
The rear of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+ deserves praise for its successful design. The back is finished with a material resembling leather, and there are multiple variants, including one with a camouflage-style finish. Instead of the commonly seen camera island, this phone opts for three distinct, well-defined camera lenses. The rear is segmented, presenting an original and appealing look.
The display is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus, and the aluminum frame gives the phone an IP68 waterproof rating.
Much more expensive smartphones routinely include such features today, but for a mid-priced Xiaomi model, this is a significant advantage. There’s also another piece of good news: the phone incorporates an optical fingerprint reader in the display. The 16MP front camera is housed in a circular notch. These are modern solutions that users expect from a phone like this.
200MP Camera with Optical Image Stabilization and 4K Video The specifications of the latest smartphone are truly impressive. The standout feature is the main camera setup, consisting of three lenses. It boasts a 200MP sensor with a wide f/1.7 lens, optical image stabilization, and multi-point PDAF autofocus. These are outstanding specifications!
The second lens, with an f/2.2 aperture, offers an even wider field of view at 120 degrees. However, there’s no optical zoom capability, such as a telephoto or periscope lens, which is a minor drawback compared to much more expensive flagship devices. The camera setup is complemented by a 2MP macro lens. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+ can record videos in 4K at 24 or 30 frames per second. Full HD videos can be slowed down up to four times (120 frames per second), which speaks to the speed of the processor used in this model. The real quality of photos and videos will only be known when the phone is available for sale in Poland.

The Chinese manufacturer has accustomed us to the vastness of its offerings. In addition to the most exciting “Pro+” model, there are also the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G and the standard Redmi Note 13 5G models available in the market.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G The Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G offers a similar set of features to the more expensive variant. The most significant difference is in performance. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor (4×2.4 GHz + 4x 1.95 GHz), accompanied by 8GB to 16GB of RAM. There’s also a 128GB storage option, which should positively impact the price. This model lacks Wi-Fi 6 support, and the Bluetooth module is an older version, Bluetooth 5.2. Charging power reaches 67W (which is still quite fast), allowing a full charge in 44 minutes. This model is notably cheaper and features a slightly different design.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 5G – the most affordable of the new models from the Chinese manufacturer The third model presented at the same time looks significantly more modest. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 5G features a Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a brightness of “only” 1000 nits. The processor is a 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 6080 (2×2.4 GHz + 6×2 GHz). It offers 6GB to 12GB of RAM and 128GB to 256GB of storage. The main camera has 100MP, but it lacks optical lens stabilization and features an f/1.7 aperture. The second lens is a 2MP depth sensor. There’s no wide-angle lens, and the maximum video quality is Full HD at 30 frames per second.
Redmi Note 13 5G Redmi Note 13 5G In the most affordable model in the Redmi Note 13 family, we have an IP53-rated body, and the fingerprint reader has been moved to the side of the case. The charging power is 33W. However, all these trade-offs are balanced by the price, which is exceptionally attractive in this case.
Redmi Note 13 5G Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 5G How much do the new Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 smartphones cost? Currently, we don’t have the prices for these phones in Poland. They were launched in China in the second half of September 2023 and are not yet available in other markets. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+ starts at 1,899 yuan, which is approximately 1,100-1,200 Polish zlotys for the 12+256GB version. This is a very low price, but it will certainly be considerably higher in Europe. Even at around 2,000 Polish zlotys, it will be an interesting proposition.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G starts at 1,399 yuan, which is a little over 800 Polish zlotys. The Redmi Note 13 5G is even cheaper, at 1,099 yuan, which is approximately 650 Polish zlotys. We can only hope that we’ll have the opportunity to purchase these smartphones in Poland as soon as possible and at nearly as affordable prices.
I’m confident that with competitive pricing, the new models in the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 series will achieve success!
